Institutional Accreditation

Hollins University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award (baccalaureate, masters, post-master’s certificates). Hollins University also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. The university’s accreditation was last reaffirmed in 2017 and information on current status can be found on SACSCOC website.

Program Accreditation

Hollins University’s Education Program accreditation was affirmed in 2022 through to 2029 by  Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
The Education program is approved by Virginia Department of Education.  The list of approved programs at Hollins is provided under the Teacher Preparation Programs page.

Distance Education

Hollins University’s fully online Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning (MATL)  program follows the state requirements and standards under National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA).

As part of NC-SARA requirement, Hollins’ complaint procedures and licensure disclosure is posted for the public.
